OH NO I DIDN'T!

ok last night I was doing my daily feeding and what did I see....???
The cutest and neatest mouse I have ever seen. YEAH I SAID IT!!
The markings on this mouse is just awesome... shes got a dark tan body and then a light tan face she almost looks like shes got a mask on its so defined. I am going to try to take pictures of her so you can see her.
She is just amazing. soo soo cute! I even had Terry come in just to look at her to show her off.. She just has the neatest markings...its crazy.
Anyway.. I am laughing at myself because I still can't believe I said that it was cute. lol!

Cookie and her babies! Babies OOP 6-20-08! I have yet to check the sexes but shes got two babies in there. Mac has been a good daddy and lets Cookie go eat and he snuggles up next to them and loves them.
They were nursing here so I didn't want to pull them off momma so I will check back later today to see if I can get them away from momma for a little bit to take better pictures and to see if I can find out what she had. They are sooo cute!

Introducing.... Harry.... Phoebe... and Bindi...

Phoebe and Bindi are twin White Faced Blondes (WFB) and are crabby girls but getting used to the new home. They were even taking food from Terrys hand last night. Harry is a love bug and HUGE!! He is so big but so cute! The twins are funny... and I swear Terry is like the glider whisperer or something..they were crabbing last night when I had my hands in their cage..Terry puts his in there and they stopped and even started eatting right out of his hand... Harry was just kinda laid back watching everything and wouldn't eat..I think he was just tired of listening to the girls lol!

But these are my new babies and they are just adorable. I love them already. I feel bad because their previous momma misses them dearly and shes a great lady. She felt it in their best interest to find them a new home because she was to busy and did not have time to spend with them. We have become fast friends and we email all the time now. Shes a very special lady. I hope to go back to Kansas City to visit with her again because she was such a sweetheart.

But I couldn't wait to show off my new babies. :)

well I have rescued again lol

well, the same people that I got the gliders from gave me about 12 hamsters and about 30 mice and a tank full of maggots.. YES thats what I said. I went to pick up the mice and hamsters got home and the cage they gave me (hand built) also had maggots in them. Those tanks are now outside and will stay outside. YUCK! The hamsters seem to be in good health and doing ok the mice are so far doing good. There is about 3 different sets of babies in there from almost adults all the way down to fuzzies. The mice will stay here and help my breeding business the Hamsters all will have new homes soon. The hamsters are cute though. I have about 10 dwarf hamsters and theres a really really cute one in there but I am not keeping any of them. I dont know whos related to who and I just dont have time for hamsters anyway. I am actually thinking of selling all my hamsters except for about 4 of them. I havent bred them out like I had planned on doing due to just not having enough time to deal with them, and then not having space to put babies once they are weened. But its just a thought right now and not sure what I will end up doing.
I know Alex has several that are his favorites and some of them are the ones I want to get rid of.
My snake breeder guy Chris is keeping me busy with the mice / rats so I am not sure I am going to have time to deal with hamsters. Chris is going to help terry build a rat / mice rack that will cut my cleaning / feeding / watering down and maybe once we get that done I may even change my mind.
We also came across a VERY good deal when we were in quincy last weekend and found 3 Iguanas and he only charged us $10 bucks for all three Iguanas. So we are going to have them sexed and hopefully start raising Iguanas as well.
We also found out that Terrys snakes are male and a female. Its funny, the first snake we bought from pet store we were told that it was a female so we (Terry) named her cinnamon then we bought another snake from a lady in Monroe city and she told us it was a male. Well then we went to a guy in Quincy and he told us that we probably had 2 males. Wellll.... I had Chris probe the snakes to have them sexed and well Cinnamon is a male and the male is the female. So sometime next year or so they will start their breeding (woohoo) I am still not excited about all that lol but I told terry there will be no pets here only business haha! so they will also be a part of the business.

vet visit

well... all was as I expected.. Skittles has HLP and was 20 grams under weight! She is my handicapped Glider to... lol ... her front paw has 2 of her claws (fingers) that are fused together so shes my special girl. Snickers was just about 5 grams underweight so it wasnt as bad. But both are under weight and they are on an antibotic now. With the HLP it will be fixed with diet and since shes so underweight its going take her awhile to regroup and get all her bones back in shape. I really expected to pay almost 150 at the vet but once she heard my story on how basically I rescued these guys and all that I was going to do to keep them in their forever home she only charged me $45 dollars for the visit. I love my vet!
I am sure it helps that I also fed their snake lol! The vet visit for one glider is $36 just to been seen, $8 dollars to cut their nails, Deworming meds and the antibotic I am sure should have been a pretty penny a piece but basically she charged me for one visit and the meds or maybe just the meds. I dont care I got a good break. I would love to make a stink and get the rest of these peoples animals out of their home but my husband has put a stop to my tantrum. He said I bought them, I am getting them all better so just let it go. I am really having a hard time listening to him... lol I really want to march over there and demand my $ back that I paid for them and I want to take the animal control over there and let them see the nasty house they are letting those animals live in... but I guess this is where I step back and just Thank God that I got them and that from here on out they will be 2 spoiled gliders and given lots of love.
I do have to wait 6 mths before I can get him fixed, vet said to at least give him 6 mths because we dont know how long they have been so mis treated and he needs the time to really recover and get well. They were a hit at work as always. The gliders are such a crowd pleaser, with their big eyes and the funny noises they make. Jeana babysat while I went on a quick break and when I came back she was telling me how they were making a cute noise while I was gone. It was cute!
Well tonight is a full night for me... I need to go clean the rat / mice tanks and Idol is on and I also rented the movie P.S I love you and I have been waiting for that forever so its going to be a long busy night so I just wanted to make a quick update on the babies.

They finally have names... Skittles and Snickers!

Well, This is Skittles (girl) and Snickers (boy) this is my babies that I rescued. They are going to work with me tomorrow and going to go to the vet in the morning. I have worries about them both. First hes got the liquid poopsies and shes not walking very good. She is almost walking with a shuffle and not a regular glider walk... so we want to make sure they are going to be ok. I have a feeling I wont get good news at the vet but I am going to see what I can do to make these babies well again. I have them on a new diet especially for gliders and they are still licking their bowls clean in the morning. They are eatting like there is no tomorrow. I do plan on making a stink when I get done at the vet. I am going to call Animal control and get my pictures printed off to show what kind of condition these babies were in and then I will have the vets opionion on how sick they are to go against these people as well. I have a feeling its going to get ugly. But I will let everyone know (ok the 2 people that actually read my blog lol) know what the vet outcome is tomorrow. I was glad that Jeana is going to let me bring them to work tomorrow. That saves me a trip back and forth home just to pick them up and take them to vet and then back home. :)
